Country implementation

The purpose of the country implementation area of focus is to improve supply chain visibility, traceability, delivery and coordination through simplified data management and improved analytics.

The subareas of focus include:

  • Promoting in master data management (MDM), such as the adoption of GS1.
    • The desired outcome is adoption by implementing members, partners and country stakeholders.
  • Promoting improvements in traceability such as the adoption of serialisation (such as QR codes and data matrices) by working with manufacturers of commodities, hardware and software.
    • The desired outcome is adoption by implementing members, partners and country stakeholders.
  • Promoting key performance indicator (KPI) harmonisation to improve performance and reporting.
    • The desired outcome is adoption by implementing members, partners and country stakeholders.
  • Promoting standardisation of shipping documents.
    • The desired outcome is adoption by manufacturers.
  • Defining end to end.
    • The desired outcome is adoption by members, partners and country stakeholders.
  • Promoting the use of Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS), or drones, for last mile delivery.
    • The desired outcome is coordinated and evidence-driven drone delivery integration into health supply chains and logistics networks that directly supports health outcomes.

The ISG country implementation area of focus is led by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The UAS sub-area of focus is led by the ISG UAS subcommittee.
